Where to Stay

Where to stay in Portland? Staying close to downtown is preferable because of the city’s attractions, restaurants etc. We may need to charge extra, based on drive time if you are not staying close to downtown. Most typical nice hotels in downtown Portland will run $100 and up. There may be deals on Expedia, AirBnB, Agoda, and Booking for a cheaper options of where to stay.

Due to the occasional late night political theater of the far right or the far left near the Federal Justice Center I am only recommending the hotels downtown which are far enough away from the extremists. Don’t worry, Portland is still safe despite the what Fox news portrays. We will pick you up at any centrally located Portland hotel or hotels that are on the route that we take to conduct the tour. Call for details.

The downtown hotels are the most expensive and nice. Downtown hotels:

Northwest Portland is split between the “Pearl District” and the “Northwest”
neighborhood. These areas are also a nice because of their “walk-ability”
and access to things. Most typical nice hotels in downtown Portland will
run $100 and up. We’ve heard that there may be deals on Expedia and other
web sites too. We think that downtown or inner NW Portland are the best
areas to stay in for both picking up guests for tours and their experience
visiting our area. Let them know we gave you the numbers.

OR 97209  503-220-1339

In the most affordable category in NW Portland we recommend:

  1.  Northwest Hostel (some private rooms too) 503-241-2783
  2.  Silver Cloud at 503-242-2400 (They have a discount for EcoTours guests)

  4. The Inn at Northrup Station 503-224-0543

Another easy and convenient area is the Lloyd Center/Convention Center area.
We think that one of the most affordable places to stay in all of Portland
which is still fairly convenient, but not as good access to the mass transit
is the EconoLodge Convention Center on NE Broadway at 503-284-5181.
