10:00 AM Pickup at your hotel or residence. Drive west through the beautiful countryside of Yamhill or Washington County. This area produces the majority of Oregon’s famous Pinot Noir. En route, your guide will provide commentary on the history of Oregon wines and explain what to expect in the tasting rooms for anyone experiencing wine tasting for the first time. We are happy to take input on the wineries we visit. It is best to do this ahead of time, because we need to make appointments for our visits.
11:00 AM Arrive at our first vineyard for tasting, possibly the award-winning Elk Cove Vineyards. The tastings usually start with the lighter white wines and continue through the wonderful subtle reds.

12 Noon Arrive at our second tasting room, perhaps the beautiful Lenne Estate? You may enjoy the grounds here because there are outstanding views of the beautiful rolling Willamette Valley.
1:00 PM The wine country offers many inviting restaurant choices for lunch. One of our favorites is the “Dundee Bistro” owned by the Ponzi family of the famous Ponzi Vineyards. Prices can vary from between $8.00 and $21.00 depending on your choice of restaurant and entree. Another great option is the Red Hills Deli/Market. When registering for the tour, EcoTours will be happy to provide details of the various lunch options.
3:00 PM Our next stop may be Rex Hill / A to Z, one of Oregon’s largest wine producers. Although you may be familiar with A to Z, Rex Hill is their artisanal Label.  With a newly remodeled tasting room the boutique brand Rex Hill has been of our favorites for 28 years.

The Winery tours include door-to-door transportation and interpretive expert guide services. Most wineries have $10 charges for tastings. Some are $20.00 per person extra depending on your choices of where to taste. Is it worth it? Yes! These are incredible wines. Most wineries will waive your tasting fees if there are wine purchases. We can always keep the fees to $40 total or under for the day and we will still get to amazing wineries with beautiful views. For $139.00 per person, we will pick the wineries and pay your tasting fees. Please call to discuss. Group discounts available for 30+ guests.

Oregon Wine Guide – with local winemaker Ken Wright

Because of our 26 years of organizing local Winery Tours we can schedule your tour to meet the following criteria:
1. Oregon’s finest Pinot Noir.
2. Wineries with the most beautiful views and fine wines.
3. Small indie, boutique back-roads wineries that only the insiders know about.
4. Let us know your taste preferences and we will schedule wineries which will best match your tastes.
5. Best value wineries.
6. Specific areas such as Dundee Hills, Yamhill-Carlton area, Eola Hills, Washington County etc.
7. A general overview with a bit of everything and reasonable tasting fees.

If notified in advance tour options include:
1. Lunch at a local restaurant or a picnic lunch. A restaurant is advised during Oregon’s rainy months, from November through May.
2. A step-by-step tour of the wine-making process.
3. Stops at local fruit and nut stands. Hazelnuts and many types of fruits and berries are a specialty in the Willamette Valley.
4. Bird watching en route. The wetlands of this area offer great bird-watching and EcoTours is equipped with 45-power spotting scopes.
