A great wine-tasting tour. Jeff was knowledgeable, flexible and took us to interesting vineyards with great wines. He suggested pre-ordering and picking up lunch at the start of the tour - food was great! We then ate this at the second vineyard, outside, enjoying a lovely view. Altogether, we tasted about 15 wines. A great way to experience part of the wine country.

My wife and I hired Jeff to take us out to some wineries in the Willamette Valley and it was a fantastic experience! He was waiting for us downstairs at our hotel promptly at the time we agreed upon, the van was great (clean and comfortable), and he provided a ton of great information about the area not only on our hour-ish ride down but also between all of our stops and on our way back. We mostly picked our own places but given Jeff's extensive knowledge of wine in general and the wineries and winemakers around the Portland/Willamette area I would absolutely trust him to make us a great itinerary if we ever make it back that way. We looked at a few different services and EcoTours ended up being the first and ultimately only one we called, and it was a great decision!

The wine tour was a total blast! Jeff led the tour and he was great; very informative and funny. I appreciate that we went to 3 smaller wineries, they all had amazing wines and great atmosphere! Will definitely be going on more tours as the weather gets nice!

We loved the tour. Jeff was very knowledgeable and helpful. We were able to plan ahead and choose the wineries that we wanted to visit. The Red Hills Deli was perfect for lunch and we loved having everything arranged for us by Jeff. We will definitely be booking another tour soon.

Traveling from NY to Portland, I was unaware of who to tour through- but I do not regret using Eco Tours one bit! I had been recommended by the Visitor Information Center in Pioneer Courthouse Square, to use Jeff, who has wine experience of 25 years! The views were stunning, the wine was great, and it definitely rounded up my trip. Definitely a must do!

If you are visiting the area and want to sample some wineries, you can leave it all to Jeff. He is extremely knowledgeable but not a wine snob at all. Just a super down to earth guy with great customer service. He polled the tour members on what we liked, and there was a good give and take between him steering us to particular vineyards and us letting him know what we were interested in. We did three vineyards and a tasting room, plus another tasting room during our lunch break. Overall, we thought it was a great value for an all-day tour that keeps you from risking the drive yourself !

We just got back from touring four wineries in the Willamette Valley--we would never have been able to find these on our own (only one was located on a main road), and they were all excellent. Jeff chose the perfect restaurant for lunch (and arranged the schedule so we had time for dessert). He also offered a quicker lunch option for those who wanted to do more wine tasting. We're planning on making this an annual tradition.

FAQ’s

Got questions about your Pinot Patrol Willamette Valley Winery Tour? Here’s my most common questions for what you need to know to plan your day.
What does the Pinot Patrol Willamette Valley Winery Tour include?

My tour offers an educational and enjoyable wine-tasting experience, guided by owner-operator Jeff Davies, who has over 30 years of experience. The tour includes visits to selected vineyards, door-to-door service, bottled water, and a stop at a great lunch place.

Are tasting fees included in the tour price?

Yes! Other tour companies make you pay extra for these fees, but my tours are all-inclusive. You are welcome to go beyond the included tastings and then some tasting fees may not be included. Only lunch is on your own and the restaurant we visit will always have regional wines for you to partake in.

Will I be picked up and dropped off?

I will pick you up anywhere in the downtown area, Pearl District, inner NW Portland, and Convention Center/Lloyd Center area for no additional charge. I also pick up anywhere on the route I take to the Willamette Valley. If you are not staying in central Portland or an AirBnB, I may also be able to pick you up, but let’s discuss the details first.

Is it true that I can avoid booking fees and credit card fees?

Yes, it’s true and it’s simple to do! Just make your reservation by phone at 503-475-0226 and not online. All of the places where my tours are available for online bookings will charge you a multitude of fees that you will only see at checkout. If you call and avoid sites like peek.com, TripAdvisor, Expedia, Viator and GetYourGuide, I waive all fees. Do you always visit the same wineries?

No. Daily tours are not a cookie cutter tours and I always choose the best options based on a number of factors. I offer private tours that can be specifically customized to visit wineries of your choice or based on specific wine preferences. As you can see from our many reviews, all of our tours provide a memorable experience and I’m sure you’ll experience the best that the Willamette Valley has to offer.

Is lunch provided during the tour?

No, the price of lunch is not included in our tours. I ensure that meal options complement the wine-tasting experience and I always cater to various dietary preferences.
